Despite common belief, black wolves are not their own species. Instead, they’re a melanistic variant of the gray wolf and are identical in every way except for the color of their coat. Black wolves are endemic anywhere gray wolves are, including Europe, Asia, and North America.

  • Scientific Name: Canis lupus
  • Characteristics: All wolves use howling as a way to communicate with one another, and this black wolf is calling out for its pack! Like all of our figurines, this model has been painted and sculpted by hand to reflect not only our immaculate attention to detail, but our expert craftsmanship as well.

  • All of our products are Non-toxic and BPA free.
  • History:

Interestingly, black foxes are much more common throughout North America than they are Europe. This is because during the 1800’s, there was a boom in fur trading throughout Europe. Black foxes were specifically hunted for their beautiful and uncommon pelts, and as a result their population numbers sharply declined. Thankfully, black foxes aren’t hunted nearly as often in the present day.
