Although this piglet is squeaky clean right now, it usually spends its days covered in mud. Pigs actually roll around in mud because they don’t have sweat glands, and the layers of mud helps them cool off. Pigs are often born in large litters, and compete with one another when trying to get milk from their mother.

Although they have a reputation for being dirty, the reason piglets roll in mud is because they do not have sweat glands. The mud helps cool their skin down and protects them from insect bites.
