  • Characteristics: The eastern screech owl travels mostly under the cover of darkness, and hunts during the nighttime hours. Hopefully this beautifully hand painted model doesn’t flutter around too much at night, and instead lets you get some sleep!
  • Size and Color: Standing 4.75 inches tall and 5 inches long, both dimensions of this model are about the same size as the height of a soda can. Eastern screech owls can be many different colors, although they are most commonly a mixture of brown, tan, black, and white.

    History:

    The eastern screen owl is a heavily populated species, and has been classified as least concern by the IUCN. In fact, the eastern screech owl has benefited from human development, as farms and other man-made open grasslands allow them to hunt more effectively. Despite its name, the eastern screech owl doesn’t actually screech. Instead, it makes a calm, trembling hoot.
