Dachshunds - Good Luck Minis®
The word Dachshund comes from German, with dachs meaning badger and hund meaning dog. Therefore, quite literally, they were badger dogs, and the 300-year-old breed still retains many of the unique skills for which they were originally bred in Germany. Dachshunds were recognized as a breed by the American Kennel Club in 1885, and today they are the 13th most popular domesticated dog breed, right between Siberian Huskies and Doberman Pinschers. Beagles and Basset Hounds are the breeds most similar to Dachshunds in size and shape.
