A White Buffalo is an American Bison with white fur, in contrast to the usual brown color of a Bison. White Buffalos are born white for any of four reasons. Some are albino, others are leucistic, a few have a rare genetic trait that allows their fur to stay white a few years after birth, and some have the white Charolais Cattle in their ancestry. The combination of their large size and rare occurrence made White Buffalo sacred in some Native American spiritualities. The most famous White Buffalo is Miracle Moon, a 100% pure Bison who has birthed multiple White Buffalo calves.
