Wild Safari® North American Wildlife
by Safari Ltd
Native to western and central North America, the pronghorn is the only surviving member of the family Antilocapridae. They’re often thought to be antelopes due to the similarities in their appearances. However, pronghorns are just as closely related to giraffes as they are to antelopes!
Scientific Name: Antilocapra americana
Characteristics: Part of what makes pronghorns similar to giraffes is the fact that their horns are covered in a layer of skin. Like all Safari figurines, this pronghorn buck model is fantastic as a teaching aid, piece of décor, toy for play, or even as a gift, and has been accurately hand painted to appeal to all nature lovers.
Size and Color: Pronghorns are predominantly tan and brown, but have distinct patches of white fur along their sides, breasts, bellies, and throats. Standing 4 inches tall and 3.75 inches wide, this figurine is a touch shorter and wider than a soda can.
The Pronghorn Buck is part of the Wild Safari® North American Wildlife collection
