Found in a large range of the western Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean, cownose rays are a large species of eagle ray that can grow to be as large as 3 and a half feet long. Although not particularly dangerous, cownose rays can deliver a venom similar to that of a bee sting.
Scientific Name: Rhinoptera bonasus
Characteristics: Although cownose rays can have quite the shocking sting, we promise this figurine is safe to touch! Like all Safari wildlife figurines, our cownose ray model was crafted with the utmost attention to detail and was hand painted to ensure life-like realism and scientific accuracy.
Size and Color: 4.9 inches long and 3.6 inches wide, this figurine is the same length as and about an inch taller than a soda can laid on its side. All cownose rays are an olive brown color, although the shades can vary between lighter and darker.
The Cownose Ray is part of the Wild Safari® Sea Life collecion.
